late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

3 Mile Walk for the Homeless
The 3 Mile Walk engages the community in physical activities and raises funds for the Homeless packets that will be distributed in December. The packets are distributed to Wayside Cross Ministries (Aurora and Elgin), LIFESPRING Shelter and Restoration for Women (Aurora). Pacific Gardens Mission (Chicago), DuPage Pads Interim Housing
Center (Downers Grove), College of DuPage Cares Program (Glen Ellyn) and
community’ members to give to the homeless they encounter through-out their day.

Man Up to Cancer Awareness Early Detection Is The Key

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament and Fellowship
This program promoted violence prevention by increasing physical activities, teamwork,
sportsmanship, trust and conflict resolutions. Players were given T-Shirts with the phase “JUMP SHOTS NOT GUN SHOTS” as a constant reminder to avoid violence.

Back To School Picnic and Wellness Fair
Designed to support families with children in meeting needs for school, which can include Dental check-ups, Physical Exams and Immunizations. We supply backpacks and school supplies for K-12th grade, lunch for all, activities that promote mental and physical health such as games, inflatable bounce house, mini obstacle course, water activities and prizes. All are given access to health and human services information from on-sight participating organizations and access to a mini food pantry and new and used clothing.
